I hear you Suzanne, but Bevy is doing her thing and has seemed to create a niche. Sorry, I can't take Bevy seriously dressed like this: In fact, I would say Bethann Hardison commands far more respect from the industry than Bevy. It's lovely that Bevy can plan dinners, but guess what? Shala is invited to the homes of the likes of DVF, Miuccia Prada, Tracey Reese, Dasha Zhukova, Margerita Missoni, and Charlotte Casiraghi. Plus, so far, she has carried herself in a way that's worthy of respect. The reason why people are giving Shala Monroque high praises is that she has a true sense of style and has managed to rock haute couture from some our best European designers to some of our beloved black designers like Lafayete 148, Byron Lars and Tracey Reese. LOL! Trust, you won't see her front row at Giorgio Armani or Louis Vuitton. I can't remember ever taking a cue from that mag for style. After all, she was a Fashion Director at VIBE. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that mess or much of what's available in urban fashion wear. I used to see Bevy sitting front row at Baby Phat, but it's BABY FREAKIN' PHAT. Zac Posen does a really nice VIP dinner that many people beg to get into, but can't. It's about the intimate dinners that the designer has. It's not even about the after-parties anymore. You can tell how important someone is perceived by where s/he sits at a fashion show for a more seasoned or revered designer, backstage access and invite to the private dinner that the designer has. If her relationships were so grand, she'd be on OWN or the Style Network NOT B.E.T./Centric. Yeah, but Bevy is still urban though so it limits her and how she's received.
